Tourism House project presented

CARTHAGE (TAP/ TUESDAY, JUNE 14, 2011) - Caretaker President Foued Mebazaa conferred on Monday with Mr. Mohamed Belaajouza, Chairman of the Tunisian Hotel Federation, who was escorted by the Federation's Secretary-General.


After the meeting, Mr. Belaajouza said he had briefed the Interim President on the Tourism House project. The latter, which is under achievement, includes a five-floor building that houses different tourist activities, he explained.

The talk was also an occasion to review the state of affairs of Tunisia's hospitality industry and the difficulties it faces, he added, pointing out that the Interim President stressed the need to improve hotel products and services, to preserve jobs and develop promotional action and training in this sector.


Mr. Belaajouza underscored the Caretaker President's readiness to help the hotel sector overcome hardships, notably in solving the issue of indebtedness, in such a manner as to contribute to the development of the country's tourism industry.


The Interim President also became acquainted, on this occasion, with the model of the Tourism House and the different components and technical and architectural aspects of the project.
